It doesn't matter if you are a farmer, a farm dreamer, a homesteader or an urban / organic gardener who longs for wide open places, this farmcast, err, coopcast is for you! We have learned a lot about small scale farming and market gardening on our journey and wanted to help others by sharing the joys and struggles we have discovered as we continue returning to our roots in the soil. Our topics free range around broiler chickens and pastured eggs, heritage breed turkeys, pastured heritage pigs, an heirloom vegetable CSA, high tunnel / hoop house / green houses, gardens, projects in the barn, permaculture, food preservation and even fence mending. So come along for a visit to our chicken coop and join us as we share our livestock, gardening and homesteading stories and skills from our small farm as we live - pasture to plate.</itunes:summary><itunes:keywords>farm,farmcast,farming,organic,chickenthistle,farmstead,farmer,homesteading,garden,livestock</itunes:keywords><itunes:owner><itunes:name>Chicken Thistle Farm</itunes:name><itunes:email>andy@chickenthistlefarm.com</itunes:email></itunes:owner><itunes:image href="http://www.chickenthistlefarm.com/storage/coopcasts/CoopCastArtv2.jpg"/><itunes:category text="Society & Culture"><itunes:category text="Personal Journals"/></itunes:category>

020 Pig castration, morning sickness and a HOT greenhouse

This week’s updates on:

Other notes:

Up until now we have been publishing the coopcast/farmcast/podcast every week in both m4a (Apple’s format) and mp3 (the worlds format). The challenge is only one version can be included in the “feed” and recently we have had several requests for the mp3 to be in the feed. Given that, we are switching to mp3 and unless anyone speaks up we will be dropping m4a altogether starting with this coopcast.
