Have you tried to getting a fake owl to scare away the bad birds? Also maybe some kind of cayenne pepper spray or something???

@Mandy - Thanks for the ideas but we have seen House Sparrows roost on plastic owl heads! They are foul fowl! The pepper route might help... but I'm not sure the hens would like it! :)
