Food Nightmare

The KFC Double Down The KFC Double Down

Yes - it's real...  and it's coming to a KFC near you.  Now - I love bacon, cheese and chicken as much as the next guy.  But the health implications of the 2 deep fried "chicken buns", the mayo sauce and the cheese + bacon of this monster are staggering.

As I understand it - this Frankenstein of modern food will run you about 550 calories and over 32g of fat towards your daily healthy intake...  (that's 50% of your recommended  daily fat intake).

I dunno what bothers me more - the look of the thing...  the quality of the ingredients used in the thing... or the fact that I'm now going to be contributing "my fair share" into a system of health care where people who eat these things are eating more than "their fair share" of the health care resources.  So be ready to double down your payments into a system that doesn't have any notion of personal responsibility.

Do yourself a favor - order some healthy chickens here.  Then make a homemade version - you know it's gotta taste pretty good :)

barf. I think the closest farm to me that I can buy a whole chicken is Newnan. I fear Newnan. I'm curious as to what your opinion of Bell & Evans is... that's the company that supplies my farmer's market and I did some superficial research and thinking it's a step in the right direction.

Would you believe Brett's had it on our agenda to go to KFC for dinner Monday night so he can get one of these!? LOL! (Don't look at ME like that - it's Brett's idea!)

Shame... SHAME!!!! :P
The issue isn't eating this "once in a while" - it's the fact this will become someones "every meal".
