« Building a Barn Leanto - Part 3 | Main | Baby building on Mothers Day »

It's a pile...

Stack of lumberAs the site has shown - the amount of progress on the leanto since the header board was put up has been less than spectacular...  mainly due to the lack of time to get things underway.  I guess you could say I have been time challenged.

Saturday was consumed by regular homeowner kind of things, a party for Kelli's coworkers and efforts to batten down the hatches before the huge winds storm that struck... (of which the new roof survived just fine - thank you!)

Sunday was Mothers Day - which meant more cooking and entertaining...  which was a lot of fun, we had my folks and Max and Carol over - ate from about noon until 6 - and then after the guests left - Kelli and I slumped over in a food coma.

At any rate - this neglected pile of lumber is going to be brought into active service over the next few days.  I do have several other "spring time" farm things I need to do - but keep your eyes peeled...  I mean it's not like I really have a choice - the chicks are going to need a brooder soon...  and this pile of leanto lumber is in the way!

...and today you'll be busy covering things for tonite's frost!

Nope - nothing is out yet - last frost in these parts is Memorial Day - so everything is still in the cold frame or basement. I remember several inches of snow on Mothers Day back in 1996 - so not until the 20's of May do things start to "go out and about". Anything that's up in the garden now will tolerate a bit of frost.
