not Monday - but FUNday!

Part of the process in surviving these next few weeks in this part of the country (you know the time between real winter and real spring... rain one day - snow then next...) part of keeping your sanity here involves comfort food. It's really one of your last chances to pack on the pounds guilt free before you need to start worrying about swimsuit season.
So - Kelli has instituted a household fix to the doldrums of the season and Monday's... they are now called FUNDAYS! The real draw of which is a "fun" dinner of some sort... so we have been working on interesting, easy and fun things to make. All in all - it's been pretty good... but there was on Mon Funday in particular we hit it our of the park... and that was the creation of our completely homemade - almost no grease - AMAZING taste Venison Garbage Plate. (even made the garbage plate sauce from scratch with triple ground burger - if you want the recipe pose a note here and I'll get it up!) This guy really hit the spot without the puddles of great folks from this part of the country associate with this "delicacy". Best of all - over 60% of the content on the plate is from our homestead... not bad for our take on a local original.

Um, what's a garbage plate? And what's underneath the chili-like concoction at the back of the plate? Sounds like it must've been good!

I like Kelli's idea of funday foods!
