Something sprouting this way comes (January's Freeze)

It may seem crazy to you - but here in the middle of yet ANOTHER snow storm and lengthy blowing-out of the driveway - something has been going on inside the warm confines of our home... we have been starting to order our seeds for the garden. Actually - the other night I stopped by our local Harris Garden center to see what they had and walked out the door with several packets of the staples.
I have to say in addition to offering chickens to the public on our farm this year - I'm also excited about some of the farm markets we will be attending as well as some thoughts I have for a small and simple roadside presence at the end of the driveway. So - it's with those aspirations of growing fresh veggies (as we look to our stocked freezer and canned goods today) that will be making NEXT winters dinners for us and others.
No, we are not starting any of those seeds inside yet... but discussions of the what - how much - putting in a green house in the next year or so - running waterlines as soon as the backhoe can break ground... all those warm weather plans have started. One thing about farming that grown more tangible with every new experience is how the cycles overlap and renew each other. It's exciting to see the days grow ever so longer now... and think of the seedlings that will be growing in a month or so...
I'd write more - but I have to go blow out another drift in the driveway :)
