Cold Barn - no more
Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 6:00AM
I almost can't believe I'm posting this... here we are - before the pre-teen days of August - and I'm thinking about making things WARMER! Well - avid readers will remember last winter I was able to keep myself warm-ish in the barn with my trusty heater.
This year I'm looking to be a little more proactive in the process and I built myself a functioning barrel stove that's due for installation over the next couple of months.
For now - I roll it out of the barn and away from things that burn to light up small fires inside of it - burning off all the smelly paints. Once it's mostly cured - I'll place it inside the barn in its final resting place and get the vent pipe up through the roof.
I had been planning on buying a full featured wood heating stove for the barn - but for the money - I think I'm going to be happy with this contraption (we are talking the difference between under $100 and over $700).
