Bluebird of happiness

As you may have read - we had a bit of a tragedy here at Chicken Thistle Farm when we lost an entire brood of babies.
We have watched a large harrier hawk patrolling the field along the nest boxes - it's highly likely that the female was lost to predation and that's why the nest failed. This and other really good information can be found in Kelli's favorite book here (you buying a copy through this link helps support our sustainable farming practice).
Well - we are very excited to report that the male has found another lady friend and they have selected a box and commenced nest building activities.
Hopefully this time will go a little better than the last!
