Governments "Dirty" Secret

Well - not so much dirt as it is soil... and it's note really a secret either.
Yesterday I used some of my Federal taxes that I pay all year - went to the USDA web site - and generated a free soil analysis of our 35 acres - very accurate and comprehensive - it shows where the soils change type - which is obvious based on the vegetation out in the fields and the water/contours of the land. Anyone can go - find themselves - and generate a report. It's the same thing you used to have to go to the county seat, sit with a heavy breather, and have them find the data for you on all the maps and surveys... only this is much easier!
Just point your browser at - Web Soil Survey URL: http://websoilsurvey.nrcs.usda.gov - and follow the directions.
Basically the report tells us - we have good stuff - so my summer of experimentation of crops is expected to be basically - all good. :)
