Seeds of Green
Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 7:31AM
The seeds have been germinating for several days since the platform was set up and they were started. Quite the hardy little crop... with some exceptions of older seeds I was trying that don't seem to be happy.

So far the multiple varieties of tomatoes are doing well - Roma being the slow start this year... none of the peppers are up yet - but they usually take about 2 weeks.
Leeks are not up either - but again - they are both older seeds and slow starters - so we will see.
The melons, pumpkins and several other oddities are also doing well.
Also - even though the ground is wet beyond wet - I spent a little time mounding up the garlic that's out there from last fall - as some of the rains have eroded down the soil to the point of exposing the old bulbs... the soil is so sandy that it was reminiscent of building a sand castle to keep the garlic safe and sound.

You started pumpkin seeds already!? Whoa - that's couragous - they might be kicking you guys out of the house before you can put them in the ground!?
I see you have the same problem I always have - where you have to stack pots at different heights, propping them up on each other, etc just to fit them all under the lights...
