Wind-B-Gone?!

For the ardent watchers of the weather conditions here - you will undoubtedly have noticed that there has been almost no wind out here over the last week... well - that's not because there has been no wind - it's because the wind speed sensor on the WMR100 seems to have decided to stop sending speed data...
After an email to Oregon Scientific on Monday - that auto responds with the less than inspiring "If you don't hear anything from us in 4 days - call"... I called Friday.
The idiotic response was "box the WHOLE unit up - every part - and send it back to us... in 4-6 weeks we will send you a new one." ARE YOU KIDDING! What a piss poor excuse for customer service - they want me to send a box full of a weather station that will cost $30 to mail off to them for a part that will cost less than $8 to mail...
I'll figure something out - please be patient - and realize - the wind is ALWAYS blowing here!
