State of the estate - October is over

This weekend was a busy one as the month rolled to 11 and the clocks rolled back for no good reason - there has been a lot going on around the place even though everything except the last of the leeks and carrots are out of the ground. (Well, that's not completely true - a couple weeks back the garlic went BACK in the ground for next year.)
For instance: the barn now has a functioning and installed wood stove, there is now a "back door" in the barn, the maple table that has been waiting to be completed in the shop for almost a year is now done and in the kitchen, ohh yeah - it's bow season too... as full as the larder is with chickens and veggies - we are starting to get down to the last of our venison... so I have been afield a bunch since the season started a few weeks back.
No - I can't say that things have slowed down A LOT - maybe a little - since the seasons rolled... I can tell you - each of these topics and their related stories are expected to be shared here over the next week.
