The Neeeeeighbors Horse

While they are majestic - and pretty - and fun to occasionally ride... I personally have never understood the attraction. I mean - I like horses - don't get me wrong, but their over all agricultural value is, in my opinion, marginal at best.
They are kinda like a fancy motorcycle that needs fuel and maintenance all the time - even when it's parked "in the barn".
Sure - in a perfect agrarian society (I don't think those 2 words go together at all) I suppose a horse is the animal that allows the tillage of soil, planting and harvesting of crops... but I'll take one of these "new-fangled" painted horses that eats diesel and does the work of entire horse teams! (Note - although it may appear that some horses have a PTO adapter - that's NOT what it is!)
Well - here's Buddy - one of our neighbors horses. He's very friendly - likes carrots and apples... um... I dunno - I mean - he's just a horse.

Where's Joe? He is always there to greet as we head down the driveway to your house.
Joe is still there - although he was getting fat from the grass in the pasture near us - so he got moved to the other side... now Buddy is the horse that says hello!
