Blast from the past

We are back from a week in Little Cayman diving - no worse for wear. It was a terrific trip - I'll spice up the winter doldrums with a few pictures over the next several days. Food was excellent - water warm - reef very health - fish, turtles and sharks were all spectacular.
Apparently - however - while we were away, not only was the weather here unseasonably warm - but the house got blasted with hurricane force winds in some freakish storm. We did sustain some minor damage in the form of roof shingles being ripped off.
This area of the house apparently is prone to losing shingles in high winds - as there were some missing last April when we closed - and a close inspection of the area shows a fair number of patch jobs.
We also lost some and hand lifting on the peak.
The roofers were out Monday morning (thanks Carol for being our property manager while we were in the Caribbean) and patched it all up... it was a little colder than shingles like - so there are still some lifted edges. hopefully the sun will come out and make things warm to settle them down before the next big wind event.
We can't really complain about the roof though - a house down the street that was ringed by very large pines making the house very secluded lost almost 40% of his "wall" - looks like the were all snapped off about 8 feet up. That's also where a phone pole got pushed over.
