Labor Day Kayak's (not)

As I mentioned in a previous post - we headed up to the 1000 Islands for Labor Day... and we kayaked a bit too. But when you get back home, you need a place to store those kayaks. They are long (over 16'), heavy (over 60#) and plastic (prone to oil-canning)... so storage is often problematic. Anyhow - a few years back I was looking through one of those catalogs that has things for sale that I certainly can't afford - and it gave me an idea for storage. So - here's the custom kayak rigging and storage solution I came up with. Using a series of pulleys, some nylon rope, and some nylon bands that Kelli sewed up for us - we can lift and store these kayaks 10' off the ground and keep them happy. The ropes get tied off to a set of boat cleats.

Wow, that's a cool set up there - you guys make quite the formidable team for projects like this!
