The Sub-Soil Situation - part 2

This long weekend got us off on a short vacation up to the 1000 Islands - a weekend of good food, fun big clam bake party, boat rides, kayak trips and jet ski's! A much needed respite from all the work we have been doing around the farm... that said - almost as soon as we got back - we resumed with the outstanding tasks at hand. One of which is the plow that won't plow.
Which has been loaded into the back of the truck in anticipation of it being welded back into workable shape by a friend of mine - Frank. (yes, I'm aware, every good farm has a welder - I'm looking now) I'm not sure when this week will work for him, but I have cut off the one side, and scored the other for where we will be making the cut. Once both pins have been removed, we will lap weld them back on. This hot shows the point where the remain pin will be cut off. Here is the cut off pin - and it's held in roughly the orientation it will receive when it rejoins the steel on the plow. That should get me rolling the sod over so I can get some rye down for "green manure" here.Things inside the barn are gradually moving along - decided to get the wires in this week - then more insulation... I know this is the easier way to do it - so rather than rush with a low budget - I'm just going to take longer and work on the other projects... like bush hogging the field!
