While the (concrete) dust settles

We certainly can't be called lazy... Last night due to circumstances beyond the control of us or our awesome mason Scott - we had to postpone the sealing of the new barn floor - but don't worry - the final pictures will be posted!
So - instead - I bush hogged the location of the main veggie garden plot for next year. It's off to the right of the yard - behind the barn. The current garden is clear on the far side of the barn - making watering of it possible only through the tractor and a bucket brigade... not idea given the size of the thing we are shooting for next year to be able to take things to market.
This is a good size swath here - and should accommodate everything we are thinking of starting - including vines of melons and pumpkins. Kelli has also decided that right along the yard there will be a split rail fence added - and some nice flowers too.
All this is going to get accomplished through the use of the 1 bottom plow previously posted about - as well as the new 5' disk from TSC. I have had my eye on this for some time and when they dropped the price significantly to make room for snow shooters... I couldn't help snapping it up. Watch for posts in the near future of the plowing and subsequent disking of the area. If all goes as planned - we will have winter wheat or rye planted this fall to give us some nice green manure for the spring.
