A Pouring Respite

After all the work in the barn - as it sits for it's final night of concrete curing before its time to seal it... and as the rain falls... tonight seemed to be the perfect time to have some good comfort food and relax for a change.
Kelli has been working hard on the inside of the house... The blue sky room is getting closer to a new coat of paint - taming the brightness a tad... She has touched up all the blemishes in the meadow view room and is looking at fabrics for the window treatments... The guest bathroom is getting closer to a paint color selection... the family room/kitchen area is getting new window treatments to go with the new paint... and the little space left in the garage has been consumed by various pieces of furniture that are getting repainted to augment the nearly done rooms. All in all - we have both been very busy!
So, in celebration of our accomplishments in the last 2 months - I whipped up some Parmesan / Fresh zucchini fritters, topped them with some homemade basil marinara sauce, some fresh artisan bread and a bottle of Merlot.

Yum! Care to share the recipes?

I think we're going to be looking at some fried zucchini fritters (using the Barefoot Contessa recipe) and some corn fritters (never made them before, but they looked really good on America's Test Kitchens the other nite!) real soon...
