Of Trucks and Bows

While last night around the homestead was relatively uneventful - it was certainly not uneventful away from the homestead... We headed off to Auburn, had a picnic in the truck on the way there, and picked up my shiny new bow at Bass Pro... it's awesome. Technology sure has moved a long way in archery since the Browning of only 15+ years ago... this new Bear bow (Instinct) draws like a dream, holds like a dream and shoots like a dream... LOVE it!
Even though last night may have been a bust at home - this last weekend we did something very important - we got the old plow truck up and running. Although we go it started once on Saturday - the plow motor would not engage because the solenoid kept chattering in and out. Then - we couldn't even get it to turn over again. After a trip to the store and a purchase of a Samuel L. Walton battery - she started right up - and the solenoid contacts connected - and the plow came right off the ground.
So - seeing as we had a mobile truck - we saw fit to tour the property to make sure the grease in the joints and bearings didn't all settle...
