Farmer Fun

One of this weekends activities was a trip to the Marion Antique Tractor Show and Pull. We all had a terrific time watching these vintage farm fixtures chug around and try to pull a sled with cement filled barrels around. I'd have to say - it doesn't get any more genuine or all-American than that!

Here's a shot of some of the folks displaying their tractor - actually - not quite... this was some folks who WOULD be displaying their tractor - here they are pulling out of the gas station in town...

Lots and lots of vintage 30's-40's-and a few 50's tractors. Some were perfectly restored - some were in need of a little love - but ran great.
This tractor here was the winner in it's weight class - a 2 cylinder steel wheel John Deere. Lots of power - and it hardly sounds like it's running! The kid driving it had about 6 different restored tractors he drove for him and his father.
