Neither partridge nor pear tree

With all the snow flying and my seemingly endless trips up and down the driveway... I took a few moments to move past the fact the total distance traveled by tractor and snowblower to clear the driveway is somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 miles (all in reverse!) and actually stopped to enjoy the pristine snows that continued to blanket our home. And right outside on the edge of the kennel we watched 5 very puffy and cold morning doves huddled up.
Somewhere deep down inside my primal instinct feel a kinmanship with these little guys... of course - that was after I had bundled up again and was riding around on the tractor in the snow again...
