Ohh Deer!

Once in a great while there is a deer season so great - you will refer back to it in stories and fond memory... it's not the season where you forgot something, missed something, lost something... No, there are deer seasons I fondly remember... and then there are deer seasons like this one!
That monster 8 pointer with my bow... then opening day at my folks place, at 8:20 there was a shot from my dad's stand... then the vibration f the radio. he was calling to report a shot and a hit of an 8 pointer... as I sat in my stand and watched 3 deer bedded under my stand. 30 minutes later, I was on the radio - reporting I had just shot a terrific 6 point.
Opening day was a resounding success - my dad and I both scored nice bucks... and Uncle Charlie was left empty handed - didn't even see one... but that was opening day. On Sunday - he had filled 2 doe tags before dinner - which was served at 4pm.
All in all - this has been a terrific season! As of Monday night - I have 2 bucks, my dad has a buck and Charlie 3 doe. We will all have full freezers - and are donating 2 full deer to the Venison Donation Coalition.
