Last Weekend

Last weekend was a "work weekend" at the farm... Kelli, her mom and my mom cleaned up the flower beds around the house and got a couple shrubs in the ground. It looks really great... in the process they uncovered a healthy looking lavender that was buried amongst the weeds. The plans are to complete the plantings next spring and mulch the rest.
I had help from my father-in-law, my dad and my uncle. We attacked the barn that seems to go slower and slower with every step of progress. We got the entire back wall and one section on a side wall covered with OSB... which is on top of the insulation I put up... which is on top of the wiring that's in place. So - with the OSB hung, we were able to get a lot of the shop looking "settled" on Sunday. I still have a ton of work to do in there - but it's starting to look more and more like a work shop and less and less like a dumping ground.
We also go a fair amount of rain Friday - which was good - since I have been waiting for about 2 weeks since turning over the garden plot for the rain to fall and germinate a bunch of weed seed before I knock all that under with the disks. Looks like that will be a project for alter this week - and then the winter rye will go down.
All rooms were filled this weekend - we ate well - laughed a lot - good times.
