A NEW cranberry relish for the holidays

The holiday meals are coming and if you are like me – you have started to think about what you will be serving.  If your process is anything like mine you probably have your classic favorites and some all new tastes to try and then that category of old/tired but no good options.  Well, if one of them has you feeling tired of the same old cranberry relish around the holidays and you are looking for a bit of a boost in taste experience…  Then look no farther.  How about tons of all natural, whole food antioxidants to make you feel better about the extra pat of butter on your roles?  Here’s a change from the year after year cranberry dilemma I made last year (building off our friend Carols recipe) and it ROCKS with grilled birds or wild game.

Cherry – Orange Cranberry Relish

1 bag fresh Cranberries

1-2 whole oranges, quartered

1c sugar

Pinch of salt

1/2c CherryPharm Tart Cherry Juice (use no other!)

Serves 8-10

Rinse the cranberries and add to food processor.  With food processor running quickly add the entire orange slices – rind and all.  Add CherryPharm juice. Process until desired consistency – a bit of a slaw appearance.

Remove from food processor add pinch of salt and sugar (more or less) to taste based on tartness of the fresh cranberries.  You can add a dash of ginger and clove here too if you want!

Refrigerate over night to let the flavors blend.

Serve instead of the same old cranberry sauce (or the cranberry “thing” from the can) and watch your guests eyes light up!

Very simple – total prep time is under 5 minutes and NO cooking – longer if you pick out the bad cranberries from the bag :)
