While they are majestic – and pretty – and fun to occasionally ride… I personally have never understood the attraction. I mean – I like horses – don’t get me wrong, but their over all agricultural value is, in my opinion, marginal at best.
They are kinda like a fancy motorcycle that needs fuel and maintenance all the time – even when it’s parked “in the barn”.
Sure – in a perfect agrarian society (I don’t think those 2 words go together at all) I suppose a horse is the animal that allows the tillage of soil, planting and harvesting of crops… but I’ll take one of these “new-fangled” painted horses that eats diesel and does the work of entire horse teams! (Note – although it may appear that some horses have a PTO adapter – that’s NOT what it is!)
Well – here’s Buddy – one of our neighbors horses. He’s very friendly – likes carrots and apples… um… I dunno – I mean – he’s just a horse.

Where’s Joe? He is always there to greet as we head down the driveway to your house.
Joe is still there – although he was getting fat from the grass in the pasture near us – so he got moved to the other side… now Buddy is the horse that says hello!
