I have been saving this picture for a week or so – it’s a picture of one of our many Eastern Bluebirds this fall – scoping out a winter nesting box. They have been think out here over the last few weeks. A flock of around 8 adult and yearling bluebirds spend a great deal of time flitting about in the trees and the yard.
It’s rewarding to see that after the experiences of brood loss – and the witnessed fledgling from our houses this summer – they are all together now getting ready for the changing of the seasons.
