I got a Weather Station (the Oregon Scientific WMR100)… well – actually – it was a early birthday gift from my folks… and boy is it a nice one. If you like weather watching – and Kelli and I sure do – this is a must have, especially when hooked up to the computer.
Basically – there is a rain gauge + barometric sensor in one unit, a anemometer + wind direction + temperature + humidity sensor in another, and the base station that receives that data and monitors internal to the house data… all that plus into the computer with a USB cable and the package comes with 2 different programs to try out. (of course – I need to buy the web version of one of them to be able to offer internet access to the station here on the blog).
But man is it cool!
Of course – Sunday was a nice day out – for mid-January… and it seemed like a great opportunity to get the wind/temp/humidity sensor mounted on a roof peak…
The bunch of white “wire” looking stuff is actually rope used to shuttling up and down tools… All the sensors are wireless.

Oh wow – I’m totally jealous! My brother got my dad something similar a few years ago, minus the computer options I think. You’ll have to report back and let us know how you like it once it’s been up and running for awhile. Annnnnd report back once you’ve had to climb back up to replace batteries!
i have the wmr100 to and i love it for everything it dose for a good price it was to good to be true so i bought one off of ebay from a seller in my home town i have had good prefomance out of iti have the basic version of weather display but i will update it to virtual weather station and have a spot on wundergound pws for 75070
so its good to see other people have the same things i do
mcktxaws – If you read on through the blog here you will see my WMR100 died a slow death and OS was good enough after a long drawn out affair to replace it with the newer WMR200 – which I LOVE!
Glad to hear you have had good luck with yours.
well the wmr200 is nice but the wmr100 is a solid weather station i never had any problems with it i LOVE it why pay over 200$ for a weather station when for 150 you can get almost the same deal
my wmr100 is mounted to one of my aluminum fence post works fine so does the rain gauge the console connects to my computer
